Ladies Love the Punch Line
Ladies Love, an all female stand-up showcase descends upon the Punch Line to entertain with tales of life, love and womanhood from San Francisco's premier lady comics. Experience cleverly crafted intelligent jokes (and some silliness too) that will leave your stomach aching, cheeks hurting and most importantly remind you that women are and always will be funny.
Ladies Love was birthed in Oakland. The second Tuesday of every month, The Layover (a beloved bar) is flooded with comedy lovers. A carefully curated female line up delights standing room only audiences with innovative humor in a distinct female voice. The showcase is produced and hosted by the vivacious Lydia Popovich.
Lydia Popovich is a SF-based comedian and blogger. Her website, Hater Tuesday founded in 2003 garners thousands of weekly visits from friends and family around the world. Her anecdotal humor and vivid storytelling make her a unique voice in a sea of dick jokes. She's opened for certified headliners Moshe Kasher, Morgan Murphy, Jackie Kashian, Marga Gomez and John Roy. She's delighted to take a break from her usual hosting duties to headline this special night of comedy.
Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters once touched her arm and said, "Hey, you're pretty funny." That was the best day of her life.*
