Tuesday and Laura Present: Estrogen Entrée with a Side of Balls
Estrogen Entree with a Side of Balls is a unique take on stand up comedy. Four women and one gay guy as an honorary woman served up with one male on the side. The show has been running in the SF area for over a year and is now playing to sold out rooms at the Punch Line. Estrogen has made its LA premiere at the LA IMPROV COMEDY FEST to rave reviews and is now a regular in the LA stand up scene. Developed by the hilarious Tuesday Thomas, the show includes the best stand up comics in the Bay Area, trivia and prizes, and the most fun you'll have outside of a bag of feral cats!
Tuesday Thomas your host and co producer is a student of the world, and the world is a harsh teacher. Through her travels, she has learned the hard way that the Deep South isn’t worth living in, her ex-husbands aren’t worth marrying, and that laughter is sometimes pretty good medicine. She now lives in San Francisco, where she is an odd fish in an even odder pond. She would like to be able to say she doesn’t suffer fools. But, unfortunately, she does. Daily. Instead of airing her frustrations on an individual basis, she figured it would save time to just become a standup comic. Tuesday is also an actress, playing roles as diverse as a cockney maid, a white-trash mom and a flustered rich woman. Somehow, she is now a Vegan. Nobody is more disappointed than her. She can be seen in the upcoming films "All The Others Were Practice" and "Diary of a Teenage Girl,” or performing her stand up or one woman show in NYC, LA, and all over the Bay Area, or standing next to a fountain talking to pigeons.
Laura Franzese co-producer is a San Francisco-based comic. Her observational humor borderlines quirky and strange: from penguins watching documentaries about Morgan Freeman to hydrogen and oxygen molecules have a three-way, there is no telling what she will say next. She has performed to sold-out rooms at The World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, Gotham Comedy Club in NYC, The Punch Line and Cobb's Comedy Club. She has told jokes alongside Jim Gaffigan, Laurie Kilmartin (CONAN) and ANT. She despises writing in the third person.
Tomas Flores (the balls) grew up in Los Angeles but didn't start his comedy career until moving to the Bay Area. He has performed all throughout California and the Bay Area, including The Punch Line in San Francisco and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. His comedy touches on his observation of the world as a Mexican-American son, husband, brother, and, most recently, new dad. Having grown up in a house full of women, he feels right at home being the side of balls.
Ruby Gill has lived in San Francisco for nearly a decade. When she isn't fellating bananas on stage, Ruby is usually in her cubicle at work, spending time with her sweet Indian family, or smoking doobies in a parking lot.
Nicole Love isn't all sugar and spice as her name might imply. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she often shares her perspectives on race, gender and turtle boners.
Yuri Kagan (our honorary woman) is a nice Jewish boy or at least that's what it says on the JDate profile his mother created for him. He grew up in San Diego where he learned that while other people tan, he ignites. He moved to San Francisco to get a degree in bad habits and telling jokes. Yuri is a dry-humor, observational, dead-pan comedian who talks about growing up with an entire family from the Soviet Union without holding anything back. He has been profiled in SFWeekly and the Vallejo Daily Republic. He performs all over the country on any stage that will let him. He has also received much acclaim for his blog.
Katy Weingarten is the Mom of a Jewish Cocker Spaniel named Dr. Morty Squiggman. People have told her that he looks like a Muppet and so does she. As a practicing Dichotomist, Katy's belt and purse always match and her socks never do. Being from Wisconsin, she eats red meat and dairy yet doesn't like chicken or arugula. Katy has performed in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles at clubs including Gotham Comedy Club, Bonkerz, and The Comedy Store.
Tracy Shapiro is an Oakland-based musician and comedian. She is singlehandedly responsible for the emergence of the groundbreaking and boundary pushing Riot Gal movement. Tracy’s courtship of music and comedy breeds a lively mélange of raise the roof rap ballads, cheeky punk-twanged compositions, not so ladylike confessionals, and stream of consciousness rambles. Tracy performs and tours regularly both as a solo musical comedy act and with her rock band, Steel Cranes. She is currently preparing for the debut of her one woman punk-rap opera in San Francisco later this year.
