Captivate Through Comedy 201
Greatly improve your stage presence, mindset, comedy abilities, and comedy learning framework in this incisive, intermediate stand-up comedy course. A big part of why some people grow quickly at the art of comedy is because they have an effective structure for learning. This course provides a broad and interlocking framework that helps you think about comedy more effectively, speeds up your comedy growth, and allows you to have more fun while you do it.

- How to Handle Bad Shows
- Getting Better at Things You’re Bad At
- Rewriting Jokes for Learning Purposes

- Layering Your Entertainment
- Emotional and Social Reframing
- Pairing Your Needs With Your Processes
- Calling Audibles and Changing Gears
- Opening Strong
Recommended prerequisite: Captivate Through Comedy: A Stand-up Class 101 or equivalent experience.
Teacher Jesse Fernandez is an 18-year stand-up comedian who regularly performs at all the major Bay Area clubs as well as in 9 countries and in 12 SF Sketchfests. He’s written comedy for famous headliners, an Emmy-winning video, and The Onion Inc. (Onion Gamers Network). His work has been seen on Discovery Channel, TED Talks, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
Admission to this course entitles you to FREE admission to the Punch Line’s SF Comedy Showcase on each of the 5 Sundays when class sessions and the graduation show take place. At these showcases, you’ll get to study the best comedy talent in the Bay Area as they perform their acts.
Each session will take place from 4:00pm-6:00pm on February 16, February 23, March 2 and March 9. March 16th is a stand-up comedy performance by you and your classmates for loving/laughing friends and family.
The 5-week curriculum costs $200.
